POKOTABI / Takezawa Store
竹沢商店 本店
At Takezawa Store along Zoshiki's shopping street, pick up takeout skewers like pork belly, pork cheek, and intestine grilled to order, alongside punchy beef and pork offal stew.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Strolling along the shopping street west of Zoshiki Station, the savoury aroma drifting from the storefront and the tempting row of skewers naturally catch the eye. Takezawa Store is a regular stop for many seeking not only yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) but also yakiton (grilled pork skewers) and simmered offal stew. Skewers are reheated over the grill after an order is placed, ensuring every skewer is handed over piping hot.
The skewers are threaded with generous, hearty cuts of meat that provide plenty of substance. From succulent pork belly that yields deep savoury flavour as you chew to springy shiro (intestine), kashira (pork temple), heart, and liver, diners can enjoy distinctly different textures across each cut. Both salt and tare glaze are available, though the clean salt seasoning is especially good for highlighting the bold flavour of the meat directly.
Alongside the skewers, another house speciality is the beef and pork motsu nikomi (offal stew), ladled straight from the pot. Generously packed with diverse offal cuts rather than bulked out with vegetables, its rich broth carries a robust punch of garlic, making it an ideal side for rice or an accompaniment to evening drinks at home.
Operating hours run from 11:00 to 19:00, with Mondays closed. Payment is cash only, so having small change ready ensures a smooth transaction. With skewers available starting from just 1, picking up hot takeout skewers while shopping or strolling through the neighbourhood is an easy treat.
